radiation

In physics, radiation is the emission or transmission of energy in the form of waves or particles through space or through a material medium. This includes:

• electro-magnetic radiation such as radio waves, visible light, x-rays, and gamma radiation (γ)
• particle radiation such as alpha radiation (α), beta radiation (β), and neutron radiation (particles of non-zero rest energy)
• acoustic radiation such as ultrasound, sound, and seismic waves (dependent on a physical transmission medium)

Radiation bezeichnet:

Der Begriff Strahlung bezeichnet die Ausbreitung von Teilchen oder Wellen. Im ersten Fall spricht man von Teilchenstrahlung oder Korpuskularstrahlung, im zweiten von Wellenstrahlung.

Radiation es el décimo álbum de la banda británica Marillion y el sexto con el vocalista Steve Hogarth, El álbum fue tibiamente recibido por los fans debido a su sonido mas acústico y con muchas influencias de blues que han sido la tónica en el feeling del guitarrista Steve Rothery. Radiation es un álbum de corte muy intimista con temas sorprendentes como "costa del slough", "three minute boy" , "under the sun" y el epico "a few words for the death" un tema de casi 10 minutos en que la banda despliega toda su magia.

Straling kan zijn elektromagnetische straling en deeltjesstraling; bij de laatste gaat het om deeltjes met een hoge snelheid die hoogstens de grootte van een atoomkern hebben. Vaak gaat het om een stroom van deeltjes, maar het kan ook gaan om zeldzame individuele deeltjes, zoals in het geval van kosmische straling, met een zeer hoge energie.
