A rotation is a circular movement of an object around a center (or point) of rotation . A three-dimensional object always rotates around an imaginary line called a rotation axis. If the axis passes through the body's center of mass, the body is said to rotate upon itself, or spin. A rotation about an external point, e.g. the Earth about the Sun, is called a revolution or orbital revolution, typically when it is produced by gravity.

Rotation, auch Rotationsbewegung, Drehung, Drehbewegung, Kreisbewegung oder Gyralbewegung ist die Bewegung eines Punktes oder Körpers um eine Rotationsachse.

Rotation is een Oost-Duitse dramafilm uit 1949 onder regie van Wolfgang Staudte. Hij won voor deze film de Gouden Luipaard op het Filmfestival van Locarno.

La rotation (du latin rotare : « tourner ») est le mouvement d'un corps autour d'un point ou d'un axe. Usuellement, le terme « rotation » est utilisé pour les mouvements circulaires, que ce soit pour un moteur ou pour qualifier le mouvement d'un astre sur lui-même. On les utilise également pour déterminer l'orientation d'un objet dans l'espace.
