schools

A school is an institution designed for the teaching of students (or "pupils") under the direction of teachers. Most countries have systems of formal education, which is commonly compulsory. In these systems, students progress through a series of schools. The names for these schools vary by country (discussed in the Regional section below) but generally include primary school for young children and secondary school for teenagers who have completed primary education. An institution where higher education is taught, is commonly called a university college or university.

Eine Schule (lat. schola von [], Ursprungsbedeutung: „freie Zeit“, „Müßiggang, Nichtstun“, „Muße“, später „Studium, Vorlesung“), auch Bildungsanstalt oder Lehranstalt genannt, ist eine Institution, deren Bildungsauftrag im Lehren und Lernen, also in der Vermittlung von Wissen und Können durch Lehrer an Schüler, aber auch in der Wertevermittlung und in der Erziehung und Bildung zu mündigen, sich verantwortlich in die Gesellschaft einbringenden Persönlichkeiten besteht.

Une école est un établissement où l'on accueille des individus appelés « écoliers » afin que des professeurs leur dispensent un enseignement de façon collective. Le mot école vient du latin schola, signifiant « loisir consacré à l'étude », lui-même provenant du grec scholè (« le loisir »), lequel constituait un idéal souvent exprimé par les philosophes et une catégorie socialement valorisée opposée à la sphère des tâches productives.

École est une commune française, située dans le département de la Savoie en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. La commune fait partie du parc naturel régional des Bauges.
