Set is a real-time card game designed by Marsha Falco in 1974 and published by Set Enterprises in 1991. The deck consists of 81 cards varying in four features: number (one, two, or three); symbol (diamond, squiggle, oval); shading (solid, striped, or open); and color (red, green, or purple). Each possible combination of features (e.g., a card with three striped green diamonds) appears precisely once in the deck.

In mathematics, a set is a collection of distinct objects, considered as an object in its own right. For example, the numbers 2, 4, and 6 are distinct objects when considered separately, but when they are considered collectively they form a single set of size three, written {2,4,6}. Sets are one of the most fundamental concepts in mathematics. Developed at the end of the 19th century, set theory is now a ubiquitous part of mathematics, and can be used as a foundation from which nearly all of mathematics can be derived. In mathematics education, elementary topics such as Venn diagrams are taught at a young age, while more advanced concepts are taught as part of a university degree. Die Menge ist eines der wichtigsten und grundlegenden Konzepte der Mathematik. Man fasst im Rahmen der Mengenlehre einzelne Elemente zu einer Menge zusammen (in der Mathematik insbesondere Zahlen, aber auch z. B. in der Statistik die in einer Stichprobe getesteten Personen, Personen eines Jahrganges, Personen mit Bluthochdruck als vermutetem Risikofaktor für Krankheiten). Eine Menge muss kein Element enthalten (es gibt genau eine Menge ohne Elemente, die „leere Menge“). Bei der Beschreibung einer Menge geht es ausschließlich um die Frage, welche Elemente in ihr enthalten sind. Es wird nicht danach gefragt, ob ein Element mehrmals enthalten ist oder ob es eine Reihenfolge unter den Elementen gibt.

Set is een kaartspel, in 1974 ontworpen door Marsha Falco, en in 1991 door het door haar en haar man opgerichte Set Enterprises. Latere uitgevers zijn F.X. Schmid (1995), Ravensburger (na de overname van F.X. Schmid in 1996) onder de merknaam FX (1999) en onder eigen naam (2001), en 999 Games (2009).

Een verzameling is in de verzamelingenleer (een deelgebied van de wiskunde) een collectie van verschillende objecten, elementen genoemd, die op haar beurt ook weer als een object wordt beschouwd. Het begrip verzameling is een basisbegrip dat zich niet gemakkelijk laat definiëren in termen van andere begrippen, maar moet echt axiomatisch gedefinieerd worden.

Set! est un jeu de société sous forme d'un jeu de cartes spécifique créé par Marsha Falco et auto-édité en 1991. Le jeu a été repris par F.X. Schmid en 1995 puis par Ravensburger depuis 2001.
