silence

Silence is the lack of audible sound or presence of sounds of very low intensity. By analogy, the word silence can also refer to any absence of communication or hearing, including in media other than speech and music. Silence is also used as total communication, in reference to nonverbal communication and spiritual connection. Silence also refers to no sounds uttered by anybody in a room or area. Silence is an important factor in many cultural spectacles, as in rituals.

Die Stille (von althochdeutsch stilli: ohne Bewegung, ohne Geräusch) bezeichnet in der deutschen Sprache die empfundene Lautlosigkeit, Abwesenheit jeglichen Geräusches, aber auch Bewegungslosigkeit. Ihre umgangssprachliche Steigerung ist die Totenstille. Gegenbegriffe sind Geräusch, Lärm und Ähnliches. Stille ist bedeutungsverwandt, aber zu unterscheiden vom Schweigen.

Silence es el segundo álbum de larga duración por banda de Power metal finlandesa Sonata Arctica, lanzado en 2001 a través de Spinefarm Records. Es el álbum de estudio único que incluye el tecladista Mikko Härkin, quien dejó la banda por razones personales Antes de que Winterheart's Guild fuera grabado.

Stilte is de ervaring van geen enkel geluid, of de ervaring van zo weinig geluid dat het als volledig natuurlijk en rustgevend wordt beschouwd. Stilte kan echter ook als beklemmend of bedreigend worden ervaren.

Le silence est, dans son sens originel, l'état de la personne qui s'abstient de parler. Dans son sens actuellement le plus courant, c'est l'absence de bruit, c'est-à-dire de sons indésirables. Le silence absolu est l'absence de tout son audible.
