In geometry, a simplex (plural: simplexes or simplices) is a generalization of the notion of a triangle or tetrahedron to arbitrary dimensions. Specifically, a k-simplex is a k-dimensional polytope which is the convex hull of its k + 1 vertices. More formally, suppose the k + 1 points are affinely independent, which means are linearly independent. Then, the simplex determined by them is the set of points

Als Simplex oder n-Simplex, gelegentlich auch n-dimensionales Hypertetraeder, bezeichnet man in der Geometrie ein spezielles -dimensionales Polytop.

En geometría, un símplex o n-símplex (o símplice) es el análogo en n dimensiones de un triángulo. Más exactamente, un símplex es la envoltura convexa de un conjunto de (n + 1) puntos independientes afines en un espacio euclídeo de dimensión n o mayor, es decir, el conjunto de puntos tal que ningún m-plano contiene más que (m + 1) de ellos. Se dice de estos puntos que están en posición general.

Een simplex of n-simplex is een n-dimensionaal analogon van de driehoek. Preciezer is het het convexe omhulsel van n+1 onafhankelijke punten, dat wil zeggen dat geen m+2 van de punten in een m-dimensionale deelruimte liggen.
