The sky (or celestial dome) is everything that lies above the surface of the Earth, including the atmosphere and outer space.

The sky is the area above the Earth as seen from the ground.

Sky+, or Sky Plus, is a personal video recorder (PVR) service for Sky in the UK. Launched in early 2002, it allows the user to record, pause and instantly rewind live TV. The system performs these functions using an internal hard drive inside the Sky+ set top box. Its chief competitors in the UK market are the Freeview+, Freesat+, BT Vision, and Virgin Media's V+.

Als Himmel wird die Ansicht bezeichnet, die sich einem Betrachter von der Erdoberfläche aus bietet, wenn er in Richtung Weltall blickt. Je nach Tageszeit und Wetterlage können dabei sowohl Erscheinungen in der Atmosphäre als auch Erscheinungen im Weltall gesehen werden. Analog dazu wird auch die Ansicht von der Oberfläche anderer Planeten aus als Himmel bezeichnet.

Het hemelgewelf is het deel van de atmosfeer of van de ruimte dat zichtbaar is vanaf het aardoppervlak. We ervaren de hemel overdag als een gewelf, een afgeplatte koepel; het einde der hemel lijkt bij de horizon veel verder verwijderd dan recht boven ons hoofd (in het zenith). De verklaringen hiervoor zijn van psychologische aard.
