Unter Hyposensibilisierung (auch Allergieimpfung oder Spezifische Immuntherapie genannt) versteht man eine Therapieform, mit der Überreaktionen des Immunsystems behandelt werden können. Zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt ist die Hyposensibilisierung die einzige kausale Therapie bei Allergien, bei der also die Ursache der Allergie, die Überreaktion des Immunsystems, behandelt wird. Durch die steigende Gabe von Allergenen soll es zu einer Gewöhnung an das Allergen kommen, um so die überschießende Reaktion des Immunsystems auf das Allergen zu verhindern.
