slug

Slug, or land slug, is a common name for any apparently shell-less terrestrial gastropod mollusc. The word slug is also often used as part of the common name of any gastropod mollusc that has no shell, a very reduced shell, or only a small internal shell, particularly sea slugs and semislugs (this is in contrast to the common name snail, which applies to gastropods that have a coiled shell large enough that the animal can fully retract its soft parts into the shell).

Naaktslakken zijn net als de huisjesslakken weekdieren uit de klasse buikpotigen of Gastropoda (gaster betekent buik, en pous betekent poot).

Limace est un nom vernaculaire ambigu désignant en français certains gastéropodes sans coquille externe apparente appartenant à l'infra-ordre des Stylommatophora. Les limaces mesurent de 1 à 30 cm. Comme les autres gastéropodes, elles ont quatre tentacules dont deux qui ont des yeux. Les autres sont utilisés pour capter les odeurs et sont sensibles aux goûts. Elles peuvent être phytophages ou carnivores.
