Squawk can refer to:

• Yellow-crowned night heron, also known as a squawk.
• Squawk code (more formally transponder code), a four-digit number sent out by an aircraft's transponder.
• Squawk (album), hard rock band Budgie's second album released in 1972.
• Squawk virtual machine, a Java virtual machine for small devices, written mostly in Java programming language.
• A nickname for the Seattle Seahawks football team.
• Squawk can also refer to another aviation-related meaning, concerning maintenance problems, such as: "The plane has three squawks." - where there are three problems that require repair or attention.
• Squawk (sound) - short, inspiratory, musical sound that have been reported to be present in patients with hypersensitivity pneumonitis, fibrotic lung disorders, and pneumonia.
• Hoot-n-holler (also known as a squawk box system), a type of telecommunications system where there is a permanent open circuit between two or more parties.

Der Transpondercode ( ) ist eine durch den Piloten einstellbare vierstellige Oktalzahl (Ziffern jeweils 0–7), die der Luftfahrzeugtransponder (TPX oder XPDR) bei der Abfrage durch die Bodenstation (siehe auch: Sekundärradar) aussendet. Der Transpondercode wird mit dem Radarecho zusammen auf den Radarschirmen der Flugsicherung dargestellt und dient der Identifizierung des Flugzeuges. Bis 2006 zählte der Transponder nicht zur Pflichtausstattung von motorbetriebenen Flugzeugen.

Kod transpondera (Squawk) – ustawiany przez załogę statku powietrznego, czterocyfrowy numer, emitowany przez transponder na pokładzie statku, umożliwiający identyfikację danego statku i tym samym umożliwiający sprawowanie radarowej kontroli ruchu lotniczego. Kod Squawk przydzielany jest na etapie składania planu lotu, dzięki temu kontrola radarowa jest w stanie zidentyfikować daną jednostkę powietrzną, wiedząc, że samolot nadający Squawk 3101, to LOT3802, a nie WEA567. Najczęściej kod transpondera przydziela Służba Kontroli Ruchu Lotniczego (ATC) lub Służba Infromacji Powietrznej (FIS), wyjątkiem są sytuacje szczególne w których załoga statku może w uzasadnionych przypadkach użyć kodów awaryjnych 7700, 7600 i 7500 (patrz poniżej).

Squawk é o segundo álbum de estúdio da banda Budgie lançado em 1972. Squawk tornou-se mais linear que o seu antecessor, contando novamente com a produção de Rodger Bain. Tendo uma repercussão razoável na Europa, e conseguindo boas vendas, o álbum conseguiu um certificado de disco de ouro em 1973.
