Statute
A statute is a formal written enactment of a legislative authority that governs a state, city or country. Typically, statutes command or prohibit something, or declare policy. Statutes are laws made by legislative bodies and distinguished from common law, which is decided by courts, and regulations issued by government agencies. As a source of law, statutes are considered primary authority (as opposed to secondary authority).

Statut
Das Statut ( ‚Festsetzung‘), oft auch im Plural Statuten verwendet, bezeichnet:
- allgemein eine Sammlung bzw. Zusammenfassung von Rechtsnormen, siehe Kodifikation
- in der allgemeinen Rechtsgeschichte die Ordnungen und Regeln von Körperschaften, siehe Körperschaft
- einen völkerrechtlichen Vertrag, zumeist einen solchen, der eine Institution konstituiert (statuiert), siehe Statut (Völkerrecht)
- im internationalen Privatrecht diejenige Rechtsordnung, die zur Entscheidung in der Sache heranzuziehen ist, siehe Personalstatut
- eine Satzung eines privatrechtlichen Verbands/Vereins, siehe Satzung (Privatrecht)
- im österreichischen und schweizerischen Vereinsrecht einen Gesellschaftsvertrag

Statuten
Statuten zijn grondregels, bepalingen die ten grondslag liggen aan bepaalde rechtspersonen, zoals de naamloze vennootschap, besloten vennootschap, vereniging en stichting, die in de notarieel verleden akte van oprichting zijn vervat (art. 2:66 en 2:177 Burgerlijk Wetboek).

Ustawa – akt prawny o charakterze powszechnie obowiązującym, najczęściej obecnie uchwalany przez parlament (w niektórych państwach zatwierdzany później przez organ władzy wykonawczej). W porządkach prawnych różnych państw występują ustawy: zasadnicze (konstytucje), organiczne i zwykłe.
