subsidization

A subsidy is a form of financial aid or support extended to an economic sector (or institution, business, or individual) generally with the aim of promoting economic and social policy. Although commonly extended from Government, the term subsidy can relate to any type of support - for example from NGOs or implicit subsidies. Subsidies come in various forms including: direct (cash grants, interest-free loans) and indirect (tax breaks, insurance, low-interest loans, depreciation write-offs, rent rebates).

Eine Subvention (von lat. subvenire = „zu Hilfe kommen“) ist eine Leistung aus öffentlichen Mitteln an Betriebe oder Unternehmen. Subventionen sind wirtschaftspolitische Eingriffe in das Marktgeschehen, mit denen theoretisch ein bestimmtes Verhalten der Marktteilnehmer gefördert werden soll.

Subsidie (van Latijn subsidium: ondersteuning, hulp, bijstand) is een tijdelijke bijdrage van de overheid of een non-commerciële organisatie ten behoeve van het starten, dan wel een permanente bijdrage voor het uitvoeren van een activiteit waarvan het economische belang niet direct voor de hand ligt. Als het economisch belang van een te starten activiteit wel voor de hand ligt, spreekt men meestal van investeringspremie.

Une subvention est, en première approche, une aide financière, directe ou indirecte, allouée par une personne publique en vue de financer une activité d'intérêt général.

Subwencja (łac. subventio – zapomoga) – nieodpłatna i bezzwrotna pomoc finansowa udzielana najczęściej przez państwo określonym podmiotom (np. jednostkom samorządu terytorialnego, prywatnym przedsiębiorstwom, organizacjom społecznym i osobom fizycznym) dla poparcia ich działalności.
