Synchronization is the coordination of events to operate a system in unison. The familiar conductor of an orchestra serves to keep the orchestra in time. Systems operating with all their parts in synchrony are said to be synchronous or in sync; those which are not are asynchronous.

Synchronicity (englisch für „Synchronität, Gleichzeitigkeit“) steht für:

Als Synchronizität ( syn ‚mit‘, ‚gemeinsam‘ und chronos ‚Zeit‘) bezeichnete der Psychologe Carl Gustav Jung zeitlich korrelierende Ereignisse, die nicht über eine Kausalbeziehung verknüpft sind (die also akausal sind), jedoch als miteinander verbunden, aufeinander bezogen wahrgenommen und gedeutet werden.
