Thruster
A thruster is a propulsive device used by spacecraft and watercraft for station keeping, attitude control, in the reaction control system, or long-duration, low-thrust acceleration.

Thruster
Thruster (også kalt sidepropell på båter og mindre skip) er en del av et fremdrifts- og styresystem for skip. Thrustere er en spesiell type propell som kan være innfelt i skroget (tunnel-thruster), festet på en dreibar sokkel under skroget (azimuth-thruster) eller en nedsenkbar propell ( compass-thruster, Vros eller nedsenkbar azimuth) som brukes kun ved manøvrering. Thrustere er viktige blant annet for at store skip skal kunne navigere i vanskelige farvann, legge til kai uten bruk av slepebåter, eller holde en fast posisjon til havs med dynamisk posisjonering.
