tincture

A tincture is typically an alcoholic extract of plant or animal material or solution of such or of a low volatility substance (such as iodine and mercurochrome). To qualify as an alcoholic tincture, the extract should have an ethanol percentage of at least 25–60% (50–120 US proof). Sometimes an alcohol concentration as high as 90% (180 US proof) is used in such a tincture. In herbal medicine, alcoholic tinctures are made with various ethanol concentrations, 25 eing the most common.

Eine Tinktur (lat. tinctura, das Färben, Abkürzung Tct. oder Tinct.) ist ein mittels Mazeration oder Perkolation aus pflanzlichen oder tierischen Grundstoffen hergestellter Extrakt. Als Extraktionsmittel ist nach dem Europäischen Arzneibuch nur die Verwendung von Ethanol in geeigneter Konzentration als Extraktionsmittel zugelassen.

Nalewka (łac. tinctura) – w farmacji jest to niezagęszczony preparat roślinny, otrzymywany poprzez wytrawienie suchego surowca roślinnego rozpuszczalnikiem, najczęściej etanolem bądź jego mieszaniną z wodą. Jest to rodzaj leku galenowego.

Настойка (лекарственная форма) — недозированная жидкая лекарственная форма, представляющая собой спиртовые и водно - спиртовые извлечения из лекарственного растительного сырья, полученные без нагревания и удаления экстрагента.
