Vacuum is space void of matter. The word stems from the Latin adjective vacuus for "vacant" or "void". An approximation to such vacuum is a region with a gaseous pressure much less than atmospheric pressure. Physicists often discuss ideal test results that would occur in a perfect vacuum, which they sometimes simply call "vacuum" or free space, and use the term partial vacuum to refer to an actual imperfect vacuum as one might have in a laboratory or in space. In engineering and applied physics on the other hand, vacuum refers to any space in which the pressure is lower than atmospheric pressure. The Latin term in vacuo is used to describe an object as being in what would otherwise be a vacuum.

Vacuum ist eine schwedische elektronische Pop-Gruppe, welche aus Mattias Lindblom (* 19. Februar 1971 in Skanör-Falsterbo, Schweden) und Anders Wollbeck (* 10. Februar 1958 in Stockholm, Schweden) besteht. Die Mitglieder arbeiten auch als Songwriting- bzw. Produzententeam zusammen.

Vakuum [] (von ‚ leer; plural Vakua) ist in der Physik die Abwesenheit von Materie. Zur Erzeugung eines Vakuums ist insbesondere wichtig, Gas aus dem Volumen zu entfernen. Ist der verbleibende Gasdruck nur etwas geringer als der atmosphärische Druck, spricht man korrekterweise nicht von einem Vakuum, sondern von vermindertem oder reduziertem Druck oder einem Unterdruck.

Een vacuüm is een ruimte zonder materie en zonder druk. In dagelijks taalgebruik hanteert men ook wel de term luchtledig, omdat de afwezigheid van lucht een sterk verlaagde druk veroorzaakt. In een theoretisch perfect vacuüm bedraagt de druk 0 pascal (Pa).
