Y (named wye , plural wyes) is the 25th and next-to-last letter in the modern English alphabet and the ISO basic Latin alphabet. In the English writing system it represents either a vowel or a consonant.

The acute accent ( ´ ) is a diacritic used in many modern written languages with alphabets based on the Latin, Cyrillic, and Greek scripts.

The circumflex is a diacritic in the Latin, Greek and Cyrillic scripts that is used in the written forms of many languages and in various romanization and transcription schemes. It received its English name from Latin circumflexus "bent around"a translation of the Greek περισπωμένη (perispōménē). The circumflex in the Latin script is chevron-shaped ( ˆ ), while the Greek circumflex may be displayed either like a tilde ( ˜ ) or like an inverted breve (   ̑ ).

Cocktail is the debut album from the Mexican electropop band Belanova. The album was recorded in Mexico City in 2002 and finally released on 14 February 2003 without promotion. The album spent its first months on the shelves, but then radio picked up the first single, "Tus Ojos." By the summer of 2003, the album finally entered album charts reaching its peak position of number-five and number-three on the Mexican Latin Albums Chart. The band embarked on a 100-concert tour across the Mexican territory and the album finally reached Gold (50,000 Copies sold) status after three official singles. The Mexican edition of Rolling Stone named the album, Cocktail, one of best five albums of 2003. In 2005 the album was re-issued on reduced priced collections by Universal Music Mexico, because of this the sales of the album increased considerably, re-entering on the Mexican Top 100 Albums at seventy-nine and peaking at fifty-four after a few weeks. The album has been re-issued on Universal Music's slide-pack collections, making it the first time that the album has been available outside of Mexico.

A diminutive is a word which has been modified to convey a slighter degree of its root meaning, to convey the smallness of the object or quality named, or to convey a sense of intimacy or endearment. It expresses — usually by means of punctuation marks (though it can include numbers and letters) — a person's feelings or mood, though as emoticons have become more popular, some devices have provided stylized pictures that do not use punctuation.

A thumbs-up or thumbs-down is a common hand gesture achieved by a closed fist held with the thumb extended upward or downward in approval or disapproval, respectively. These gestures have become metaphors in English: "The audience gave the movie the thumbs-up" means that the audience approved of the movie, regardless of whether the gesture was actually made.

Y. is the second studio album released by Spanish singer-songwriter Bebe. Released on June 29, 2009, the album received positive critical reviews, and entered the Spanish Album Chart at number one. It was released after Bebe's four-year hiatus from the music business, following the success of her debut album Pafuera Telarañas. Recorded over a year in Madrid and Cadiz, Spain, Y. includes the Latin Grammy Award-nominated song "Me Fui" and the single "Pa' Mi Casa". The album was produced by Carlos Jean, who also worked with Bebe on her debut album. Bebe wrote all the lyrics, including some dealing with issues such as love, sex and self-respect. Y. received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Rock, Alternative or Urban Album and was re-released in December 2009 as a double album edition, which includes the original songs and a separate album with B-sides and collaborations with Lucio Godoy, Luis Pastor, Pedro Guerra and Kultama.

Y bzw. y (gesprochen []; in der Schweiz auch [], „i grec“ = griechisches i) ist der 22. Buchstabe des klassischen und der 25. Buchstabe des modernen lateinischen Alphabets. Die weibliche Brust (lat. Mamma, Pl. Mammae) zählt anatomisch zu den sekundären Geschlechtsmerkmalen der Frau. Die Brust besteht aus Fett- und Bindegewebe sowie der Brustdrüse (Glandula mammaria). Su propósito es "ser el servicio global de Internet más esencial para consumidores y negocios". Fue fundada en enero de 1994 por dos estudiantes de postgrado de la Universidad de Stanford, Jerry Yang y David Filo. Yahoo! se constituyó como empresa el 2 de marzo de 1995 y comenzó a cotizar en bolsa el 12 de abril de 1996. La empresa tiene su sede corporativa en Sunnyvale, California, Estados Unidos.

De Y (onderkast: y) is een in het Latijns alfabet voorkomende letter. De letter wordt gevormd door het karakter Y met een daarboven geplaatste circumflex.

Het accent aigu (Latijn: acutus, scherp), in de drukkerij kort met kuut aangeduid, is het streepje op een letter dat van linksonder naar rechtsboven wijst. Het wordt op de letter e geplaatst als deze lang uitgesproken moet worden of op een of meer klinkers als de klemtoon op de betrokken lettergreep valt.

Het accent circonflexe, of kortweg de of het circonflexe of circumflex (Latijn: circumflexus, rond, gebogen), is een dakvormig accent op een klinker, of in het Esperanto op een medeklinker.

Met de borst wordt meestal de vrouwelijke borst aangeduid: elke vrouw heeft twee borsten waarmee zij borstvoeding kan geven aan haar baby. Borsten zijn een secundair geslachtskenmerk van de vrouw, en hebben ook seksuele functies. La tendance est née de la combinaison de plusieurs caractères typographiques, comme le smiley :-), mais le terme désigne aussi une petite image – pouvant être fixe ou animée – telle que « », et de manière générale une forme là où elle est possible.
